With their support, we strive to mantain the highest standards in music education, ensuring that every student receives quality instruction and meaningful musical experiences.

Violist

Mark Jackobs

A renowned viola professor with over 30 years of teaching experience at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music, Mark Jackobs has also taught at numerous conservatories including but not limited to Peabody Conservatory of Music, Oberlin and University of Colorado at Boulder.

 

He sits in the endowed Jean Wall Bennett chair in the viola section of the Cleveland Orchestra where he has been playing for 32 years and counting.

 

Mark is the chairperson of our International Advisory Board.

Conductor

Lim Soon Lee

Soon Lee Lim's impressive career accolades include Head of Strings at SOTA (School of the Arts, Singapore), conductor of  Singapore National Youth Orchestra as well as the Artistic Director of the NUS Symphony Orchestra for several decades. He is currently the conductor of ACS (International) and Nanyang Girls' High School String Ensemble.

Pianist/Collaborative Pianist

Alicja Basinska

Alicja Basinska is a Polish-born collaborative pianist, chamber musician and orchestral keyboardist. Ms. Basinska is a Collaborative Piano Coordinator and staff pianist at the Cleveland Institute of Music as well as a Lecturer at Case Western Reserve University. As an orchestral player, she has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. 

 

Ms. Basinska is also the Assistant Director for the Cleveland Orchestra video production team at Severance Hall and Blossom Music Center.

Vice Dean of Mindchamps

Paulene Smith

As the vice dean of training and engagement at Mindchamps for close to 2 decades, Paulene has trained and mentored thousands of teachers. She oversaw the development of the arts & music curriculum for preschool children and is passionate about arts education.
